There are different units and divisions of Scotland Yard, so if you are interested in your character being apart of the Police then you must chose a division to start your training in. Divisions are as follows:
Division one: Uniformed/ non-uniformed Police
Ranks go as follows: Police Constable, Sergeant, Inspector, Chief Inspector, Superintendant and chief superintendant.
Everyone that goes for this rank will start off as a Police Constable. There is also the option to transfer over to CID (Criminal investigation department) once reaching Inspector meaning they will get the prefix 'Detective' before each future rank. Upon completion the individual can chose if they want to become specialised or not (e.g Police dog handler, firearms officer, bomb disposal etc..)
If you wish to be a private detective this is done so away from Scotland Yard and by the individuals own doing meaning no training will need to be done.
Division two: Forensics
Along with being apart of the Police there is also the option to become apart of the Forensics. Both cannot be done at the same time!
There are different units of forensics, but for the sake of RPing all will be trained for to provide your character chance to become a fully fledged forensic scientist! Traning includes: Ballistics, Toxicology, Entomology and Pathology.
Prior to starting a training post in your selected area, you must first enroll in the recruitment office to state what your training for etc.. Once you've finished your training in one division, you can of course move onto another one if you so wish. It's all for fun. We thought adding this element would be much more fun to persue rather than just having your character already a fuly qualified detective inspector. At least this way you can get to know your character more and make your way up the ranks and have a good time doing it!
