Definition of God modding
- In an online RP, God modding is the term used for those who create a character that is, to them completely indestructible. This is incredibly annoying for other members of the RPG and is extremely annoying for me. And God-modding can result in a possible ban, but you may be let off with a warning.
An example of god-modding is:
Player 1: Fred threw a large tree trunk towards Bob, and it flew, hurtling towards him with great speed. A car came swerving out of the way, and started to spin incontrollably towards Bob.
Player 2: The tree trunk completely missed Bob, and the car swerved out of the way and headed towards Fred. Who got ran over and died.
Note: You are allowed to swerve out of the way of danger, but you cant be completely indestructable. You have to get slightly hurt, whether its just a cut on the knee or a broken ankle.
1. Do not make thread go EXACTLY how you want it. For one it is god-modding, and for two it just isn't fair on the other RPer. Rather than working with previously unfolded events, a player might god mod to get things going their way. It is used to make a certain character invincible.
2. God modding is also describing the outcome of the events. For example:
Bob had a knife, he launched for Fred and cut his arm off..
Note: Its not fair on the other RPer, as they may not want their arm chopped off. You should always leave it open, for them either to dodge out the way, or decide whether they get hurt or not.
3. You controlling characters that are not yours, is also godmodding.
4. God-modding annoys other people, and can make you look like a fool, so try not to do it and everything will run smoothly.
