This thread has a sole purpose to help you understand the site. All the questions that you have will most likely be in here, so it saves you the hassle of finding out. I advise you to read here first, before asking any questions, as it might just be in here. But if you do have a question that hasn't been answered, simply create a new thread in 'Help' and we will soon reply to it.
Or, reply to this thread and it will be answered also.
Before you start anything, reading the rules is what I'd recommend. Start with the Overall rules, then the God-mod, Character rules and site plot. From then on you'll develop a good understanding of what this site it about. After that creating your character is the next step to take.
OOC means Out of Character, and you would say this at the end of your post in a Role-Play thread. You say OOC, when you have something to say that isnt anything to do with Role-Playing. Such as a correction or a comment about something. So you would say [OOC: Whatever you want to say.] and The IC at the end. IC means In Character. You say this so we all know that your Back In Character.
Karma is created to praise the RPer should they do something good and something that you like. Exalting them wll put them up one, meaning that you liked their post and wished to praise them. However smiting them is the opposite and will take their karma points down one. You can reward them for doing a good post or just simply them being nice to you! Recieving Karma can be fun but don't abuse it.
Well, you will know which threads to join if they say something like OPEN, or OPEN FOR EVERYONE, or AR [Which means Anyone reply] This means that completely anyone can join. But threads saying INVITE, means you can only join if you have been invited. And ASK means you can join if you ask the person who has made the thread. If the thread says someone's name at the end, or if it says closed it means that specific thread is meant for one or a few specific people. So then you probably couldn't join. But if you feel as though that thread is something you want to be involved in, it's worth asking the creator of the thread politely asking them if you can be included even though it's closed. It helps if you put something like that at the end of your created thread. Then people can understand if they can join or not.
The simple answer is yes. There are no limits to the amount of threads that your in and they can be in any place that you want your character to go. Of course, don't blow it out of proportion and make them randomly go to China when they live in London if you catch my drift unless they have a purpose and a reason etc... But ultimately yes.
No. Well, not a show character anyway. That just throws things off plot, and everything goes a bit silly. BUT, you can kill a made-up character that someone else has made. As long as they don't mind, and you have there permission to do so. A word of advise is not to go around PMing everyone saying can you kill there character. They have to ask you and you can say yes or no. Killing a character without there consent is just unfair, and a little bit mean.
Yes. By all means, you can hurt other characters. As long as there not super, life threatening injuries such as a bullet to the neck. It would be pretty hard to recover from that one. And if you did want to do something like that, then its better to ask permission frmo your RPing buddy. But battles and fights between people/monsters or people to people can make the RPG more fun and exciting. So go ahead.
A bookmark is a handy way to keep track of Threads that you are in. And can easily view them, rather than finding the thread you participate in.
At the end of your thread, if you scroll down the bottom you will see several option boxes. In the right hand corner theres a little button which says Search. Next to that it says Bookmark. Just simply click it, and there you are. The thread is bookmarked.
You can view all your bookmarks by clicking on profile. And it says Modify profile and next to it, theres a little link which says 'Bookmarks'.
There are two ways to delete a bookmark. But I'm going to cut to the chase and suggest you do the easy way. But for some weird reason that you want to know the hard way to delete a bookmark, reply to this thread and I'll tell you.
The easy way, is going to the thread that you want to delete the bookmark in. And where you clicked the link to bookmark it in the first place, it will now say 'Remove Bookmark' Click on that, and it will be deleted from your profile. Its as easy as that.
When modifying your bookmarks, simply set the default to "Personal Message [PM]" and click "Update Bookmarks and Preferences". From then on, you will get a PM saying that someone has posted. Its a great way to keep on track, and you wont ever miss a turn to post.

Can I be in two places at once?
The simple answer is yes. There are no limits to the amount of threads that your in and they can be in any place that you want your character to go. Am I allowed to kill another character?
No. Well, not a show character anyway. That just throws things off plot, and everything goes a bit silly. BUT, you can kill a made-up character that someone else has made. Can I at least hurt another character?
Yes. By all means, you can hurt other characters. As long as there not super, life threatening injuries such as a bullet to the neck. It would be pretty hard to recover from that one.
